Flashmob Part 2
Still working on choreo. Will start Mid-May through June
You can register for this in May, but please let me know you are thinking of it!
Performance Dates:
Thursday Evening, July 14
Saturday Afternoon, July 16
Where:
West Seattle SummerFest and SummerFest Eve
Thank your interest in joining the DancePowered 2022 Flashmob Performance at the West Seattle SummerFest!
Of course many people know we’ll be performing….but most people attending the Street Fair and ArtWalk will think it’s a random flashmob. It’s a really, truly fun experience, and I absolutely adore, adore doing it with all of you!
It will mark our return to performing on SummerFest Eve as our warm-up, and then the craziness of the StreetFair itself!
It sounds like West Seattle Association is still preparing for the West Seattle Bridge to be open by the time SummerFest starts.
Let’s keep our fingers crossed that it happens! Otherwise, if you’re coming from off the bridge, add some extra time into your travel there and back.
Rehearsal Details:
I value each of my communities so very much, and would like to make sure both areas have access to rehearsal times, so I’ll be holding the rehearsals in both West Seattle and North Seattle, with the understanding that towards July, we will need to commit to joining together in a central location for the final few rehearsals.
Rehearsals will be kept to 1 hour increments in 2 locations beginning April 24.
West Seattle Location: Viva Arts Studio Sundays 11:15am-12:15pm | First Choreo Starts April 24
North Seattle: Balance Studio in Fremont Thursdays 7:15-8:15pm | First Choreo Starts April 28
*We need a full mirror, and because there is a donation fee, I can’t have free rehearsals for all of us at CF!
Final June Weekend and July Rehearsals will need to be as a full group and
We can do a mix of outdoor and indoor rehearsals. I will choose a central location for us to meet at so that we can all fit into a room together with a mirror, and additionally meet outside to rehearse. If I can’t find a central location, I’ll do it up North at Roosevelt High on Sunday Evenings.
Rehearsal Costs:
A sliding scale from $10-$15 range : )
Please Venmo @JenniferCepeda_Productions, Before each class.
Cash also accepted.
I’ve lowered my rates so that those of you taking multiple classes with me aren’t feeling too stretched financially! If you’re feeling more generous, that’s great too!
Outfit Cost:
I try to keep this cost as low as I can, but I can say that this year will have the most outfit changes we’ve ever done. Most likely 3. I try to keep the cost as low as possible.
Commitments Needed:
There will be different levels of choreography and groups involved with each segment of this performance.
So far there are 3 segments of completed choreography.
The more pieces you are in, the more time commitment & rehearsal there is, depending on your aptitude for learning choreography.
Again, most of this choreography is complete, so you will be able to learn each choreo in a few classes, but will definitely need extra classes per choreo to get the moves into your bodies, then transition & formation rehearsals.
I will email you to let you know what rehearsals to attend based on what matches your style and experience level.
PLEASE PROVIDE PROOF OF VACCINATION TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS FLASHMOB.
How Many Pieces Can I Be In?
Let’s start by filling out the registration form below!
I need to know your availability and what you’re willing to commit to.
There are also choreographies that fit your dance style that I will place you in, which may or may not be all the pieces! It’s fun either way! The more you’re in, the more time it you’ll need to commit to. So fill out the reg form and I’ll let you know what we can add you in to!
FAQs:
I’ll be gone some of the rehearsal days in June and July!
This is common! As long as you know the choreography, and can be present for the transitions & formation portion of the rehearsals, and the practices the day of, it’s all good. We typically meet an hour and a half before each performance to run through a few times, then meet at the site to perform. Check In with me about this as the time gets closer.
Do I have to be a seasoned performer to take part in this?
No! I do have different levels of dancers performing different segments of the choreography, so there is a chance for all of us to take part!
Can I just take part in learning the choreography but not do the Flashmob?
Yes! Think of it as taking an extra class each week!
Can I learn the choreographies I’m not taking part in?
Yes! Think of it as taking an extra class each week!
What if I can only do one of the two days?
I usually have a few people who can only do one or the other day. That’s fine as long as it’s not too many people. Check with me!
I will swap you out or adjust for the missing people.
What if I have to bow out unexpectedly?
Yes. That happens! Nothing we can do, please let me know as soon as possible!
